It’s a throwback Thursday vibe. Or maybe a take it back Tuesday? Either way, we’re going old-school YouTube circa 2014, maybe? I’m talking about what’s in my bag. I was obsessed with these videos. It’s a real nostalgic moment when I see one. Any time I was preparing to switch purses, I would always see what everyone else was carrying. I can’t tell you how many times someone else inspired what I keep with me on a regular basis.
In honor of a brand new bag, I’m going to share what’s in my bag. I’ll just say this right off the bat I don’t always carry my purse. I’m guilty of snagging my cardholder and leaving everything else. Between not going places and trying to keep everything sanitized, I’ve lost the will to carry a bag. I need to break that habit. I’m hoping this is the motivation I need!
I’m currently carrying the Marc Jacobs Commuter Crossbody in mulled wine. Fun fact, this is my first Marc Jacobs purse. I can’t express to all of you how excited I am about this bag. I’ve waited six years to get my hands on a Marc Jacobs bag. I found this one at Nordstrom Rack.
The Commuter Crossbody is much smaller than my usual bags. Which I absolutely adore! Is anyone else guilty of carrying a big bag with everything they own in it? Because I am! I’m twenty-five with back problems thanks to unnecessary belongings. But no more!
First and foremost, I always have my phone with me. The Commuter has a back pocket that I’ll pop it in. But let’s be honest, my phone is an appendage! So, it’s almost always out of my bag. I take my AirPods with me everywhere, especially if I’m going into a store or anything like that. If you haven’t read it yet, check out my top 10 podcasts. Also, if you didn’t know, I have a podcast. It’s called Off the Paigee; it’s available wherever you listen. We’re still living in a pandemic, so I always have an extra mask with me. I prefer the Kitsch masks because I have a smaller face. These masks fit me the best and are the most comfortable. Keeping with the precautions, I keep a Bath & Body Works hand sanitizer with me. Within the last six months, I’ve started carrying screen cleansing towelettes. They’re from the brand well-kept. I didn’t realize how gross screens could get until now.
My car keys live in my purse when I’m out and about. With daylight savings, the sun is thriving longer. I always have a pair of sunglasses on me. I carry my Sarah’s Day sunnies with me most of the time. But occasionally, I’ll switch them out with my Ray-Bans. Don’t judge me, but I carry two wallets. So one isn’t a full wallet. It’s my handy-dandy cardholder. It’s from Madewell; it has my initials on it. My full wallet is also from Madewell. Sadly, it doesn’t have my initials. The weirdest but most practical thing I carry is a light. It’s not a flashlight either. It’s this little circle that lights up when you tap it. It makes it super easy to find anything in your purse, but it also helps if you’re walking in the dark.
As organized as I am, I still have loose odds and ends in my bag. Carrying a more compact bag prevents me from keeping too much makeup with me. All I need is my Glossier balm dot com, whatever lip color I’m wearing that day and a compact that has a powder and mirror. I also always have a pen with me. You never know when you’re going to need a pen. I keep both gum and mints with me. Is that redundant? Maybe, but you never know which you’re going to want. Maybe, you’re in the mood for a snack. I keep one of those too! Usually, a Built bar or a Trader Joe’s cereal bar. Those are kind of like the Fig Newton bars. 10/10 recommend.
The last bit I keep with me is a small variety of medicine. I always keep my Birth Control in my bag. I don’t want to miss one of those. I also have to keep Benadryl with me. I’m allergic to peanuts and tree nuts. Food and even drinks can be a dangerous game. Finally, I keep Tylenol with me. I’m prone to migraines, so I never know when one will strike.
That’s everything I keep with me daily! I feel like it’s super practical. I also feel prepared without being overly prepared. Hopefully, this will help with all the back pain.
I hope you all enjoyed this little reveal. I feel like you can learn a lot about a person from what they carry with them. It’s also fun. Or is that just me? Please, tell me I’m not alone!
