Necessities for the Socially Distant

It’s quarantine season and {fingers crossed} we’re all practicing social distancing.

In these unique times, you might be experiencing extra downtime or maybe you’re spending an extra 3 hours a day scrolling through various shops online. Better yet, you might have gotten sucked into various binge worthy moments on Netflix. Is anyone else experiencing major conflicting emotions around Tiger King? Let me tell you, you’re not alone!

I’ve been utilizing these quarantine days in various ways; shopping, binging, staying active, you know, anything to maintain a sense of normalcy. I’m not accustomed to an abundance of empty time. So, I’ve put together a list of some stuff getting me through this quarantine; quarantine survival, if you will.

1. Caffeine: This probably comes as no surprise; I mean I am 90% caffeine and 10% water, but I’ve become my own barista. I live for a classic black coffee {iced or hot}, but sometimes you want something a little fancier. Whipped coffee is the trend taking the inter-web by storm. If you haven’t read my last post Whipped, what are you waiting for? But if you’re a coffee junkie on any level, you’ll want to check it out. I’ve also become an iced chai tea latte kind of girl. Thank you Tara Michelle {YouTube} for the iconic inspiration. Could I have found my new calling? Barista in the making!

2. Netflix: I think we can all agree that quarantine is the perfect excuse for a binge-a-thon and Netflix knows it. Their timing of some of these releases is eerily fitting. I’m talking about you Pandemic {no, I haven’t brought myself to watch it}. Did I however, spend an entire day binging the most meme worthy series of 2020? Yes and if you haven’t 10/10 recommend to all you cool cats and kittens.

3. Podcasts: Tried, true, and perfect for motivating any quarantine activities. Essential Listens, a must read on some really awesome podcasts -you should definitely go and read it if you haven’t already.

4. Exercise: I live for working out. Maintaining a workout regiment has been my saving grace. Being able to get up, move my body, and try different routines makes the time go a little easier. I’ve gotten back into walking//running, daily yoga routines, and an oldie, but a goody Pilates. It’s quarantine season: a.k.a motivation season

5. Shopping: This has by far been the biggest activity I’ve taken part in. I just have to say, I have absolutely no regrets. First and foremost, Etsy has been one of the top sites//apps I’ve been using. We love supporting smaller businesses, especially during times like these. Aside from homemade pieces, Amazon has been addicting. LED lights are a trend that I’m here for; I attached a strip of LED {color changing, USB supported} lights to the back of my TV and it has completely changed the entertainment game. I’ve also used the stay at home mandate as an excuse to acquire some new comfy pieces. Quarantine dress code: sweatpants, leggings, bike shorts, and anything over sized!

6. Comfortable and Cozy: Is there a better excuse for maximum amounts of comfort? No. I don’t know about you, but I’m taking FULL advantage of social distancing. My sweatpants have never experienced so much action in their lifetime. I live for comfortable, cozy moments, but if I’m being honest I don’t get them all that often. Being isolated has taught me, I NEED to take those comfortable and cozy moments when I can. Who would have thought quarantine would provide such wise insight?

When will quarantine season end? I’m not sure and I can’t say that anyone is wholeheartedly sure, but I hope we all social distance for as long as it takes.

Stay safe & healthy xx
