April has officially come to a close, which means May is here and that’s basically summer, right?
Being an East Coaster I know summer likes to tease; sunshine and warmth followed with endless rains and wicked storms. Spring thrives for a moment before winter creeps back in to ruin the fun.
All the West Coasters have slipped into their summers finest under the sweltering sunshine. Have any of you been living vicariously through anyone experiencing weather 80 and above? Guilty. It satisfies the longing for a little vitamin D.
Between the overwhelming summer vibes on all of my social feeds and the teasing tastes of summer on the East Coast I’ve been residing in that headspace.
SO what did I do? I made a sneaky summer treat.
First treat that comes to mind when you think summer: ice cream.
I did not make ice cream. I opted for second best: popsicles. Not just any popsicles; I made healthy popsicles. These popsicles are 110% inspired by Sarah’s Day {YouTube}. –Thank you!
I’m a huge fan of Sarah. If you read Essential Listens then you know I adore her podcast with her fiancé Kurt. They’re both super into health and wellness and all that jazz. SO, when I saw on her Insta-story she made BCAA popsicles your girl knew she had to try!
I’m a fan of fnxfit and have been testing out their pre-workout as well as their BCAAs. 10/10 recommend; they taste amazing and I can confirm their pre-workout REALLY works. I may or may not have set a personal running record while infused with their blue raspberry pre-workout. It taste like a Jolly Rancher and turns your tongue blue. Who wouldn’t want that?
I currently use the BCAA in the watermelon flavor. Does it also taste like a Jolly Rancher? Yes, it most certainly does.

I {thankfully} had a popsicle kit just lying around. It has 5 popsicle molds, 5 popsicle sticks {plastic ones—they look fancy}, and a tray to allow the popsicles to form upright.
–Side note: if you don’t have a Popsicle kit lying around, just use a paper cup or solo cup and a regular stick. It’ll be a little crooked, but it’ll still taste amazing!
To make the actual popsicle “juice,” I mixed 1 scoop of the watermelon BCAA with 8oz of water in my blend bottle. We love minimal clean up, right? Life hacks. With this combination I was able to get 4 popsicles and I let those sit for 24 hours.
Highly, HIGHLY recommend you try this! Who doesn’t love a sneaky treat? Especially, if the sneaky treat taste good and offers all the BCAA benefits.
