Where Does Manifesting Begin?

A New Year. A Better Me.

That is the motto for 2021. That and good vibes, of course. But what’s being a better me without some challenges?

This year I’m combing the two. I want to be a better person who invites good vibes. Last year, I wanted to be a morning person. That challenge didn’t make me a better person; it didn’t invite good vibes either. It did, however, feed my coffee addiction. It’s the small wins, am I right?

I want to learn how to manifest. I have an understanding of manifestation. It’s a term I hear a lot. However, I’m not sure how it works. So, when in doubt, Google it out.

I take comfort in knowing I’m not the only one unsure about manifestation.

First things first, what does manifesting mean?

From my understanding, manifestation is bringing something into your life through attraction and belief. If you think it, it will come. It sounds simple but does it work? Has manifesting worked for anyone? I’ve pictured a variety of things that I’ve wanted. I’ve believed with every ounce of my person that those things would happen. Spoiler alert, those things haven’t happened. So, what am I doing wrong?

According to an article, there are 7 Steps to Manifest Anything You Want — Including Money. As always, in the name of full disclosure, I’m not looking to manifest money. I’m looking to manifest my dreams. I’m ready for my career. I want 2021 to be the biggest year yet. I want a year filled with growth, successes, as well as happiness.

Before we go through the steps, I want to specify what I’m going to manifest.

Growth: I’m an adult. I want to be an adultier adult. I realize making up a word doesn’t make me sound all that adult. But trust me, I’m an adult. This year I’d like to experience life on my own. I want to own my own space. I want to rely more on myself. I’m ready; I know that I’m ready. Knowing and being isn’t enough. By the end of 2021, I will be on my own. I will have my own space and be more self-sufficient. *Baby disclaimer: I am self-sufficient now, but not as self-sufficient as I want to be.*

Success: I am ready for my career! Careers are a lot of work. It might be more work finding one. I’ll be honest, Covid was a setback, but it was also an excuse. There have been a lot of job rejections. So, when Covid hit, I decided to take a step back. I mean, no one was hiring. It seemed like the right move. Now it’s time to get back to it. By the end of 2021, I will be a journalist. It could be the smallest newspaper or magazine, but I will be part of it.

Happiness: This may seem broad. If that’s your thought process, you’re not wrong. I mentioned that I want to fill my life with more things that bring me happiness. Kind of like, if it doesn’t fill you with joy, get rid of it. There are a lot of things that I could manifest as happiness. But I think growth and success are going to be those tangible versions of happiness.

I’ve established what I want to manifest. Now it’s time to look at the steps to manifesting.

  1. Be clear about what you want. I did step one without even realizing it. I need to be more specific. However, I feel like we’re off to a good start. The article also mentions being open to change. I want what I want today, but I could change it tomorrow. Judging yourself doesn’t help the manifesting. That could be hard.
  2. Ask the universe. Being direct has never been my strong suit. I’m not one to ask for what I want. I put the work in and leave it up to chance. That’s not working for me. I’m ready to ask for help!
  3. There also needs to be work put in. The universe and I are in this together! Nothing in life comes without a little work. So, I need to be more active with the steps I’m taking towards my goals. What can I do today to get me a little closer?
  4. Trust the universe as well as its process. I trust you.
  5. Acknowledge what comes. I’ll be honest; I acknowledge what bad luck the universe gives me. I don’t think I’ve ever taken note of what good the universe has given me. I need to be more conscious of that.
  6. Keep your vibrations high. According to the article, you attract what you send out. That explains why I have such bad luck. My vibrations must be low or nonexistent. But one of my resolutions is going to help me with that! I’m dedicating 15 minutes a day to myself. Fingers crossed, that helps my vibrations and fills my life with more happiness.
  7. Don’t get in your way. I am my own worst enemy. I let my anxiety, fear, and every other bad emotion prevent me from accepting the universe. I’m working to be a more open person.

From what I’ve read, manifesting could not have been a better choice for 2021. It encompasses all of the aspects I’m working to improve this year, all but drinking more water. Maybe I can manifest that! Either way, this is my 2021 challenge.

I will be documenting my process. I will be taking note of how I feel as well as how it’s working for me. Does manifesting make a difference? We shall see together!

I will leave a link to the article I referenced throughout this post. Don’t forget to subscribe, so you never miss a post.
