Inspired & Passionate

If I mention something once I mention it at least 1000 times. So, here we are discussing my passion for writing once again.

There aren’t enough adjectives to describe my undying love. Sometimes I slip away surrounded by my own words; a secret space created to explore my inner workings in their realest forms. But that’s the problem with realest forms; they can be difficult to navigate.

Passion can only take you so far. I’ve learned that the hard way one too many times. There’s always that point when you feel burnt out. Like, you’re in a fog or just stuck and can’t seem to get it together. Does anyone else experience that out of control feeling? Like, everything is moving around you and you’re just still?

I’m very guilty of working myself into the ground. I let that passion burn, sizzle out, get all panicked, and relight the flame again. What I’m learning is the importance of inspiration. I can’t rely solely on my passion to get me through. I need things to keep feeding the flame.

Writing my last two pieces really reminded me how important inspiration is. If you haven’t read She’s not a Folklore or Miss. understood what are you doing? You’re missing out and need to go read those when you’re finished this. I was binging Taylor Swift’s Folklore when I wrote both of these pieces. When I tell you I was beyond lost in those pieces. Like, I didn’t even know what time it was, where I was, or what day it was. I was submerged.

Top two inspirations: personal experiences and music.

I live for music. I can vibe with pretty much any music and when I find the right music mood it’s game over.

I continuously forget the power that music and even personal experiences have. So, there are times when I sit down to write and feel like I need to be focused in a super quiet area. Then I get all worked up when the silence stresses me out.

I do it to myself every other week, but when I take advantage of things that inspire me I feel like some of my most cathartic and favorite pieces are created.

There’s something so strong behind such a subtle concept. Never under estimate the power of inspiration accompanied by a really great cup of coffee.
