For Fashion’s Sake

I don’t think anyone is ready for this. I don’t even think I’m ready!

I’m back with another fashion piece! It’s been way too long, in my opinion, but with the change in weather, I’m feeling a new sense of inspiration. It’s time to shed these excessive layers and slip into something lighter.

Mother Nature has been playing games with my heart. As an East Coaster, winter tends to live on for an eternity. But recently we’ve experienced some gorgeous days! We’ve found our way into the seventies lately, which means I’m pulling out my skirts. Forget the sweats I’m trading up for the t-shirt dress.  Just as comfy, but much more breathable.

I’ll be honest I’m not exactly sure where I’ll get to wear these fits, but that won’t stop me from having a fashionable moment. I mean, I’m not opposed to a fashion show in my backyard! In the name of full disclosure, my fashion sense hasn’t changed much since last year. But I didn’t have an opportunity to wear any of these looks a year ago.

Blazers: I’ve been obsessed with blazers for years. They’re the ideal throw-on piece for all occasions, especially with the weather we have on the East Coast. I prefer mine over a graphic tee, but they also work well with dresses and rompers. With such a wide variety of cuts, colors, and patterns, there’s a fit for everyone.

Two-piece sets: After essentially spending a year at home, I’ve become fashionably lazy. I want to wear things that are obscenely comfortable and effortless. So, I’ve been stocking up on sets. I don’t have to spend time thinking about what goes together. I can just pop it on and go! They’re also great for lounging or working at home. I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m much more productive when I feel put together.

T-shirt dress: I mean, do I have to say it? Comfortable. Cute. Breathable. Is there a better piece of clothing?

Skirts: Alright, these might rival the t-shirt dress. On the off chance, I’m not feeling lazy; I like to do fashion! On warmer days, I’ll pair my favorite floral skirt with my favorite stripe shirt. Or another combination that doesn’t seem like it’ll work. All of the comfort with more of a say.

Graphic tee: Again, do I need to say more? Who doesn’t love a great tee? Tee haters, probably. There’s nothing better than finding a t-shirt that fits perfectly and has some sort of graphic. It’s basic but elevated. Whether it’s fitted or oversized, it’s a must for me.

Mom jeans: These are not everyone’s cup of tea, but they’re worth a try. The fit is super flattering without feeling restricted. They’re the perfect middle ground between skinny jeans and flare jeans. Or is that all in my head? Someone, please tell me if they feel the same way.

Bike shorts: I freakin’ love bike shorts. Again, not everyone’s cup of tea, but worth a try. I love them for working out, but I also love them for my day-to-day life. I mean, pair them with a graphic tee or a blazer or both;  you’re paparazzi ready.

Sweatshirt/hoodie: Another basic that’s become high-end fashion! You can pair this comfy piece with a pair of heels and look like you just stepped out of a tabloid. Now, that’s not necessary to look fabulous. Honestly, just wearing it makes you fab! My go-to recently has been pairing it with biker shorts. Do I look seasonally confused? Maybe, but it works perfectly for spring days.

Patterned pants/soft pants: How many different ways can I incorporate comfortable pieces? I don’t think any of us need to explain the need for comfort. Either way, I live for flowy and soft pants. I feel put together without having to wear jeans. I have nothing against jeans, but sometimes they feel like more work than anything!

Fashion pieces are definitely in the top five here. This time you can see some of these looks! I’ve officially joined Tik Tok. I don’t know what I’m doing, but we’re going to learn together. Please follow me @alyspaigee on Tik Tok! I promise you won’t regret it.
