Cranberry Christmas

Happy Blogmas Day 16

I’ll be honest I’ve been having a not great day. It’s been one of those days where everything that could go wrong has. The bright side, however, is the first snowfall of the year. It’s perfect curl up and get cozy weather. It’s also the excuse I was looking for to marathon all three Santa Clause movies. The glass is half full, am I right?

To go with my cozy movie night in, I decided to whip up a cocktail. My impromptu recipe was either going to be a success or a drinkable fail. I’m not a mixologist, but every once in a while, I like to peruse the bar cart and see what I can mix. I drink all liquors, so I’m usually pretty flexible with my cocktails. At the beginning of the month, I shared a whiskey drink that I had found courtesy of Jack Daniels. Today, I’m giving you all a vodka drink courtesy of my bad day.

*This post is intended for readers over the age of 21. Please drink responsibly! For those of you under the age of 21 or who don’t enjoy drinking, I have a mocktail recipe! Click here.*

What you’ll need:

-Vodka (any kind works)

-Cranberry juice (I used cran-raspberry juice, but any kind will work)

-Ginger Ale (This was all I had, but I think Sprite would work well too)

-Ice

I poured about two shots of vodka over ice. Next, I added one small can of Ginger Ale, which is about 7.5 oz. Then I added a splash of cran-raspberry juice. I mixed it all up and poured it over ice in a festive mason jar. The mason jar is covered in little snowmen, so it felt super fitting.

For being an impromptu cocktail, I’m kind of into it. It also just feels festive. Add cranberry to anything and you have yourself a happy holiday recipe.

[…] I had never used Ginger Ale as a mixer before. Who knew it’s what my life was missing? My Cranberry Christmas was the second cocktail of Blogmas. It seems only fair to do another mocktail. As impromptu as this […]
