We’re living in unique and uncertain times, but we’re not alone in this. Everyone is experiencing similar things. The world is learning how to function and we’re learning to adapt.
Is anyone else having trouble staying motivated//being productive? Cause I for one am struggling to find motivation and maintain any form of productivity. I’ve been in quarantine since March 13th and let me tell you, I started my isolation out strong. I was motivated, I kept busy, and I felt like I could finally do my part to help. Within the last week I’ve felt that motivation begin to decline. Don’t get me wrong, I understand the importance of staying isolated and I’m still stocked that I’m able to help in some way. However, your girl needs motivation and I know that I’m not alone.
I’ve spent the last week finding new ways to be motivated//productive. So, if you’re feeling less than motivated or maybe you need to spice up your quarantine, know that you’re not alone. We’re all in this together!

Routines, routines are everything. Does it sound silly? Maybe. Is it important? Absolutely. Having something to look forward to and maintain some sense of normalcy helps us stay sane. Whether it’s your skin care routine, a workout routine, or even a coffee moment {or tea, maybe you’re a tea person}. It’s the little things that matter! There’s also this opportunity to fine-tune any routine. I don’t know about any of you, but I’m always looking for the most efficient way to get my life together. Accomplished! You will feel accomplished. If your routine is the ONLY thing you do in a day, you still did something. That’s all we can really ask of ourselves these days.
Put real clothes on and brush your hair, maybe a little makeup, but only if you’re into that. It makes a HUGE difference. I know what you’re all thinking; why would I bother with a great outfit, if I’m sitting on my couch binging Netflix? Because you deserve to look great for you! I’ll be completely transparent; I have not worn jeans since March 12th. I’ve also spent a few days rocking my PJs, which there is nothing wrong with, but putting fresh clothes on is a game changer. It creates a pulled together vibe. Plus, can you think of a better excuse to test out all your athleisure looks? Make a conches effort to style your hair. Just like with routines it’s the little things that matter. You will feel SO much better, you’ll have a sense of motivation, and who doesn’t love a good quarantine photo op?
There is always something to do. Remember when you said you’d clean out your closet? Or when you said you’d read that ridiculously long novel? Maybe there was a new hobby you promised yourself you’d start in 2020. Well, 2020 has given you the opportunity to tackle any and all resolutions. I’m the last person to ever be optimistic or view life as glass half full. I tend to be a glass half empty kind of girl, but these are unique times. In order to help those risking their lives and protect people we love and stranger we’ve never met, all we have to do is stay home.
Raise your hand if you’re a super busy always on the move person; cause same. I hit a wall and I know that I’m not alone. I don’t slow down. I also don’t like being forced to slow down. I wasn’t in a good headspace. I was unmotivated, upset with myself, and feeling trapped {for a lack of a better word}. How do we fix this? Projects. It was time to take on everything I claimed I didn’t have time for cause all I have now is time. Laundry was first on my imaginary list. An entire day was dedicated to washing, folding, and organizing. Next, the closet needed to be reorganized//cleaned out {2 bags of donations}. Another day came and went. Dusting and vacuuming was also on the imaginary list. I spent a week cleaning my space literally and metaphorically. The motivation is back! Aside from a sense of accomplishment, I felt like I was finally figuring out the best use of my time.
I know that it’s hard to generate a sense of normalcy, but no one is alone. We’re in this together as a community, a society, and a world. Do what feels normal for you, within guidelines of course and be your best quarantine self!
Stay safe, stay isolated, and stay healthy. xx
