Christmas Time is Here

Happy Blogmas Day 2

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. This is where my soul starts to sparkle like silver and gold glitter. Anyone else? There is something so magical about decorating for the holidays. It does not feel like Christmas to me unless there is a tree and Michael Buble in the background belting out It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas.

I fill my space with twinkle lights as well as glorious scents all year round, but the holidays add a little something, something. So, I took to Pinterest; I am inspired! If you know, you know. I love Pinterest! All of my free-scrolling time is split between Instagram as well as Pinterest. If you’re not following Aly Paige on Instagram or Pinterest, you’re missing out!

I started decorating for Christmas on Sunday. The majority of November was spent scrolling through a variety of Christmas concepts on Pinterest. I have a very small space for decorating, but I’ve made the most of it!

I’m someone who likes to change up my space somewhat frequently. So, there is no better excuse than a holiday or change in season.

Throw pillows are my favorite. I currently have 12, but before you judge I have a valid explanation. It creates a cozy environment. If you didn’t know; I record my podcast, Off the Paigee, from my bed. The pillows help absorb excess sound. I also get to sit in a comfortable position and feel more confident while I record. There is also a bench decked with pillows as well as a classic butterfly chair. I took to Amazon to find throw pillow covers. Let me tell you, I found them! Adding seven new covers made a huge difference. It was also inexpensive. I believe I spent roughly $30 on new covers vs. $60 or so on new pillows. Comfy, cozy, Christmas vibes!

Do I need another blanket? No, but did I want another blanket? For sure. How can you resist a cute and cozy blanket from Target? You can’t. This new blanket is soft and covered in snowflakes. It’s also currently wrapped around me.

We’ve got pillows covered. *Long pause.* Do you get it? See what I did there? I hate myself. Anyway! We’ve got a new blanket. Now, all we need are new sheets. I picked up flannel sheets from Khol’s. I live on the East Coast and I sleep next to a window. Like, directly next to a window. I get cold. A lot. So, I found some simple Christmas/Winter themed flannel sheets that have trees, log cabins, and deers. I’m set!

Like I mentioned at the beginning, it is not Christmas without a tree. I set up a sliver 3.5-foot tree. I’ve had my little fake tree for 4 or 5 years now and it’s still in great condition. It’s pre-lit, which we love. I prefer white lights because it’s how I grew up. I created a theme for the tree last year. I use matte black and silver balls then I add black glitter as well as silver glitter balls. To finish it off, I pop on a few metallic silver balls. They’re honestly like little funhouse mirrors, but they scream traditional to me. Plugging the tree in at night or on a rainy day just fills my heart. A little touch of Christmas goes a long way!
