-All lives can’t matter until black lives matter
So, it’s time to have a conversation that may feel uncomfortable. It needs to be embraced!
I took last week off to amplify black voices. It’s important that the Black Lives Matter Movement be heard and continues to be heard. I used that time to listen, better educate myself, and help any way that I can.
I recognize that I have white privilege. I recognize that I will never be able to understand what the black community has been through. However, I want the black community to know that I stand in solidarity with them.
The world needs to be better and people need to be held accountable for their actions.
The names of those who have senselessly lost their lives need to be said. Their stories need to be shared.
I will continue to educate myself and I will continue to stand in solidarity with the black community because black lives DO matter!
Black Lives Matter needs to outlive the news cycle, so if you’re reading this here is your call to action:
-Sign petitions! Join the 1000s of people asking for justice.
-Donate if you can! No donation is too small!
-Peaceful protests! Areas across the county have held various protests over the last week or so.
-Conversations! It’s important to keep talking about this movement, even if it feels uncomfortable. These barriers need to be broken down for good. There are so many places conversations can//need to be held!
Black Lives Matter!
It’s time the black community felt heard and safe. 2020 has given us all an opportunity to change, so lets not screw this up.
